Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HP Board)

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HP Board) is an agency of Government of Education of Government of Himachal Pradesh. The Board is responsible authority to provide affiliation to the state owned schools, set up examination centers, administer examinations, and publish examination results.

In addition the HP Board is responsible to define and implement school syllabus, quality control of school education and advising Ministry of Education on matters related to school education etc.

Since its establishment in 1968, the HP Board has provided affiliation and administrative to more than 8000 schools in the state. The Board sets up 1650 examination centres for over 500,000 examinees every year.

HP Board Examinations

At present, the Board conducts examination for the following classes and courses: 8th (Private Capacity), 10th, 10+1, 10+2, J.B.T and T.T.C. As many as 5 Lakh candidates annually appear in the examination conducted by the Board.
