The Combined Pre-Entrance Test (CPET) is conducted by the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur for admission to 4 year B.Tech courses.

Admission to B.Tech Courses is now offered on the basis of JEE Main

Himachal Pradesh Combined Pre-Entrance Test (CPET) Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must successfully complete the 10+2 examination of HP Board of School Education or other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English for General category candidates. The NRI students should score minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination.

Admission Procedure: The candidates can obtain the CPET application form from the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur-177005. They should submit the completed application form along with the requisite test fee to the institute by the notified date which is usually in April.

Selection: The candidates are selected on the basis of merit and their performance CEPT exam. The exam is held tentatively in May/June at the Himachal Pradesh University Campus, Shimla 5; NIT, Hamirpur; Govt. College, Hamirpur; Government College Dharamshala and GC Mandi. The NRI candidates can apply directly to the college of they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

SC- 15%, ST-7.5%, Diploma holders-2 seats and teachers of Govt Polytechnics located in HP-2 seats.

Candidates should have passed/appeared in the qualifying exam from the schools located in Himachal Pradeshii.
The candidates who belong to other state but- employees of Himachal Government/ Boards/ Corporation/ Autonomous bodies
Bonafied residents of Himachal Pradesh.
